Our first stop takes us to Plaza de la Constitución, where you’ll discover where Pablo Picasso’s father once worked as director of the Fine Arts Museum of Málaga—an important influence in the artist’s early life.
Next, we visit Iglesia de Santiago, the oldest church in the city. This is where Picasso was baptized, and where the original baptismal font and even his baptism record are still preserved.
We then continue to Plaza de la Merced, the square where Picasso was born and spent his earliest years. Here, you’ll see the exterior of his birthplace and the statue dedicated to him by the city—an iconic spot for photos. Your guide will explain how this square, the pigeons, and Málaga’s blue sky shaped his imagination and artistic sensitivity from a very young age.
The highlight of the tour comes next: a guided visit to the Picasso Museum Málaga.
